A Glowing Report

Card that is. A glowing report card!

Anna Claire got her first 9-week report card yesterday and it was GREAT! Highest marks across the board and a really helpful brief analysis by her teacher. I don't know if that's a Mr. Burley thing, or if all the 1st grade teachers do this (or maybe it was newly implemented for all this year?) - but I LIKE it! It says so much more than just a rating in a column.

Summary:
- She's reading above grade level. Not a newsflash to us, but we did learn that she's actually reading above the end-of-year recommended reading level.
- She's doing very well in math (she does still love it).
- She's writing "very well." (emphasis was the teacher's, not mine)
- One goal will be to expand her reading genres - more non-fiction, poetry, etc.
- She's "a very enthusiastic learner" and "always contributes to classroom discussions."

Way to go kiddo!!!
