So, after more than a week on antibiotics . . . it seems Caroline's eardrum has burst. Behavior-wise, she's fine. But the gunky, crusty stuff oozing from her ear says otherwise. We'll be headed in to the Ped in the morning, and then most likely (based on her history) headed to an ENT.
It's apparently not all that big of a deal, and is relatively common. She may need an antibiotic and/or cortisone drops to help it heal. But, we'll also likely be discussing options (tubes?) to stop this recurrent cycle.
