33 Weeks and a trial run sleepover

BabyCenter:

This week your baby weighs a little over 4 pounds and measures 17.2 inches from the top of her head to her heels. Her skin is becoming less red and wrinkled, and while most of her bones are hardening, her skull is quite pliable and not completely joined. This will help her ease out of your relatively narrow birth canal.

iVillage:

Your baby weighs approximately four pounds five ounces, and measures 40 centimeters crown to rump, or 15 3/4 inches. You may notice rhythmic movements across your belly now. This could mean your baby has a case of the hiccups.

BabyZone:

The fetus weighs about 4 pounds 5 ounces and her skin has turned from red to pink. Your baby has started preparing for life outside the womb by storing iron in its liver.

Well, we've definitely been hiccuping; Anna Claire got quite the thrill out of feeling "her baby" hiccup last week. She's also felt "sissy" move/kick a few times now too.

Anna Claire tried sleeping over at Nana & Papa's this evening, as a trial run of how that might go when we're in the hospital. Alas, as excited as she was at the prospect, the reality was not all she'd hoped apparently! She went down to bed no problem at all, and stayed there for about an hour. Then she decided she needed to use the potty. Then she decided that maybe she'd rather sleep in Nana & Papa's bed (between her squirming and Papa's snoring, I'm not sure anyone would have gotten any sleep). Nana told her "no, she either needed to sleep in 'her' bed or they could take her home . . . (long silent pause on Anna Claire's part) . . . is that what she wanted?" She even folded up her own blankie and packed up her stuffed animals into her bag, before heading out to put on her shoes and ask Papa to "please take her home now."

Once she was here, she let Nana tuck her into her own bed with no objections or fuss. Looks like maybe Nana & Papa will be staying here with her while we're in the hospital . . ..
