Once again, it has been too long between posts . . .. I'm beginning to realize some of that is just part of life with kids: blink, and the next thing you know a month has gone by (or 5 years).
Anna Claire:
Right now, we're trying to figure out Summer plans. It will likely be some combination of day-camps (through her old preschool, the church, and/or the county). I just know that neither of us would be content with me as the only source of entertainment for 3 months! She'll likely go 2-3 days a week, for 1/2 day sessions, and not for every week of the Summer. Just something here and there to break the monotony. There will be theme weeks at the preschool (zoo, etc where they do all sorts of related activities and take a field trip as well), vacation Bible school, music, art, dance, and even a theater camp through the county parks & rec (since, as you may know, that girl is a performer!). She's pretty excited (surprise, surprise!), and she's also SO looking forward to starting Kindergarten (though she wasn't so sure she was thrilled to learn that they still have 'rest' time for 45 minutes in Kindergarten - her most dreaded time of the Pre-K day, until they allowed her to take her Leapster with headphones!).
Caroline:
We had her ear-tube surgery follow-up visit this week. Unfortuantely we learned that one of the tubes (her left) was blocked with blood (possibly from the surgery and/or the infection that was present when they placed the tube). And, since it was blocked with blood and thus could not drain properly . . . you guessed it, another infection (already!). We've been giving her the antibiotic ear drops this week (SO much better than the systemic) and we go in for another re-check next week. They did re-test her hearing though, and it is much improved overall, primarily because of her right ear being clear now (her left is still showing 'moderate' hearing loss because of the blockage). Anyway, we've been doing the drops 2-3 times per day, so hopefully that will soften the blood, clear the blockage, and eliminate the infection. We'll find out next week, I suppose . . ..

Anna Claire:
They've been studying dinosaurs this past week at Pre-K. She came home telling us all about them, and the "paleontologists" who study them (she so loves 'new' big words to add to her repetoire). However she also informed us that she has absolutely no interest in becoming a paleontologist, as "they work hard, all day, sweating in the sun." Apparently she's decided at 5 that she'd prefer a life of leisure . . ..
Caroline:
Also has a new favorite word: pinkles. Those would be sprinkles to you and I, but oh how she loves her some pinkles. Pinkles on cake (the kids decorated their own cupcakes at Sissy's birthday party, which is I think where our fixation began). Pinkles on ice cream. Pinkles straight from the container, if anyone will let her. I must admit, it is hard to resist her "pinkles pease."

About time little bro! Just kidding - I don't know how you stay-at-home moms get anything done. Watching just 1 kid wears me out. But it's always good to read your updates. Oh, & tell Anna Claire I'd kill to get a 45 minute "rest time" every day!
Yeah - 1 of the 2 sure signs of age I've found:
1) you go from fighting a nap with everything you've got to where you'd nearly part with a limb to get one.
2) Pool water gets cold. Anna Claire's lips can be blue, her teeth chattering like mad, and yet she will still *insist* that the water is absolutely not cold (remember that?). Now it'd better be dern near bathwater to get me in w/o objection!
