Caroline's turn

Not likely to be quite as long (she's not up to quite as much, at all of 2yo!), but some pics and news anyway!

Caroline also thoroughly enjoyed Anna Claire's birthday party. She's so physically adventurous and bold. She found the big slide and knew instantly that it would be a favorite:

Overall, she's doing great. Talking more and more (and more) everyday. Saying her alphabet, identifying letters, beginning to count (sometimes well, sometimes just running through numbers w/o regard to how many of an object there are). She knows her colors now, and simple shapes.

She's finally settled into some better sleep patterns, thanks in part to her clock that shines green when it's "okay to wake" (American Innovative's Teach Me Time Clock - Anna Claire has one too, and it's got some nice teaching games on it to help her learn to tell time too). Caroline still hasn't kicked the paci habit (and some days it feels like we never will!), but I think we'll be going cold-turkey before long if we aren't headed that way soon. Our next big step on the horizon is potty training. She seems to be following the same path her sister took - late, but hopefully it goes just as quickly (once Anna Claire made the decision, also around 3yo, it was pretty much done, not really much "training" involved at all). She's gone on the potty a few times (beginning 6+ months ago), but it's just been novel up to now. Hopefully we get a bit more serious and move on soon!

Basically, she's very, very 2. Some days that's great - she's funny, and enthusiastic, and full of hugs and snuggles. Other days . . . well, they can be a bit more challenging! We'll just say she *definitely* has her own opinion on things now.

Honestly, the last pic I'll leave you with sums her up SO well:
